There is a new life-affirming organization in the Hibbing area called Project Heartbeat. Information can be found on Face Book.
Project Heartbeat's Goals:
No violence or cruelty within our group but we can be assertive. This is an open group to anyone who agrees with the above goals.
Upcoming Event: On Monday, June 3rd at 7:00 PM a community meeting will be held at JJ's on Howard Street to discuss the movie "Unplanned". Everyone interested is encouraged to attend.
Very soon our organization will be transitioning from Options for Women Iron Range to the new name of Family Life Center. This change is being made to be more clear of who we offer service to. We have found that in the changing world we are offering many services to single fathers and families. We still offer all services provided in the past and will continue to offer free pregnancy testing and counseling during pregnancy.
The Hibbing Center has moved
The Center is still in the Belmont Building at 802 East Howard Street, but instead of being in the back alley we are now in the front. Please use the front door on Howard Street and we are in the main entry. We are completely moved with only finishing touches needed (pictures hung, etc.) but we encourage visits to our Center at any time. Watch for picture to be posted and an Open House coming soon.
Father Daughter Ball HUGE Success!!
The Father Daughter Ball was held February 1st and 2nd in Chisholm. Over 450 fathers and daughters from around the area attend and had a remarkable evening. So many hardworking and dedicated people put a lot of time and effort to provice a memorable evening for all who attended. Highlights of the evening included prizes for every girl, door prizes for the fathers, a photo booth, great food and of course, fun, music and dancing. Thank you to everyone that supported this event by donating prizes, food, money, their time and talent as well as those who attended this meaningful evening. Special thanks to the hard-working organizers that are so dedicated to the Ball, St. Joseph's Church in Chisholm for providing the space, to Baron's Pharmacy, Hibbing, Casey's Drug, Chisholm and the Card and Party Shop, Virginia, for selling tickets at their businesses. All proceeds went to Options for Women Iron Range.
